As a company co-founded by two fierce and fashionable friends, we firmly believe that success is infinitely more satisfying (and fun!) when you share it with your nearest and dearest. That’s one of the reasons our Mentor Program is so important.

Today, we celebrate a pair best friends (who also happen to be Keaton Row Stylist Mentors), and let you in on how to join their team.

Two of our most active Stylists, Nicole Wilson and Liz Wesley, have supported each other from the creation of their first Keaton Row Lookbooks  through their latest challenge of recruiting new Stylists for their team. (Considering their Mentor Facebook group has nearly 100 members, we think the strategy’s working.)

While Nicole technically brought Liz into Keaton Row (making Liz her protégé), the two started at almost exactly the same time. And since they’re basically a package deal, we thought we’d present them that way, too!

Both: New York, NY

How long have you been a KR Stylist?
Nicole: Three months.
Liz: Since February.

How do you know each other?
Liz:Nicole and I sort of became friends the same way kindergarteners do on the playground. Freshman year of college, she knocked on my door and asked me if I wanted to be her friend. I said yes, and we’ve lived together since.

What inspired you to join/appealed to you about the Keaton Row opportunity?
Nicole: I loved the idea of creating my own business and providing women with looks that make them look and feel more confident – all on my own time!

Liz: I grew up with three sisters and lived with ten girls in college, so I was always kind of playing dress up with them. I really like the idea of making shopping and styling a social experience, which Keaton Row allows you to do. I love being able to connect and build relationships with women across the country, and to help them feel confident with a few new outfits!

(Even grownups play dress-up sometimes.)

What has been your best experience as a KR Stylist so far?
Nicole: Getting to know so many other talented stylists.

Liz: One of my clients gave me a Skype fashion show with all her new purchases. It was so much fun!

The Keaton Row Spring Style Social — Stylists galore!

Where do you see yourself in five, ten years?
Nicole: I hope I have a booming career in fashion where I can continue to help women look and feel their best – through Keaton Row, of course. Oh, and hopefully living abroad for a little while!

Liz: That’s a great question. Right now, I don’t even know where I see myself next week. In five years, I hope to be doing something I love full time (whatever that might be). In ten years, I hope to be successful and established in this career that I’m totally loving…

(And obviously it will be on Instagram.)

Does Keaton Row help you get there? If so, how?
Nicole: Yes! Well, for one it gives me the opportunity to build my own business and  it also allows me to style clients from anywhere there is Wi-Fi!

Liz: Yes! I love Keaton Row. If, in five years I could figure out how to do this full time, I would love that. Then, I think my ten year goal would easily follow.

Who inspires you?
Nicole: This is a hard question! I am lucky enough to have a lot of people who inspire me! My parents are some of the first people to come mind. They both are strong, independent, and very genuine.

Liz: As cliche as it sounds, my mom inspires me. She raised five kids on her own. She’s a total power woman!

Where can we find you on a Saturday afternoon?
Nicole: Exploring my new neighborhood, at a dance class, or if it’s rainy – baking!

Liz: Creating Keaton Row Lookbooks — or if it’s nice out, enjoying a beverage outside!

My guilty pleasure is…
Nicole: All of the Real Housewives series...every…single… city.

Liz: Watching an entire season of a show in a weekend.

Either The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, or our favorite Disney Princesses after lasers, fillers, and too much drama.

My go-to spot for window shopping is…
Nicole: Vintage boutiques in my neighborhood.

Liz: ABC Carpet and Home. I’m a sucker for home decor and cool store design.

The article of clothing or accessory I would buy if money were no object is…
Nicole: An Alexander McQueen bag.

Liz: A Chloe bag.

I love jumpsuits for the same reason I love dresses with pockets: It’s chic-ness without sacrificing comfort. Fashion’s drawn-out (seriously, it’s been years) exploration of luxury casual-wear is finally at its peak. (Note: As much as I love Lululemon, yoga pants belong in yoga class.) It’s time for fashion girls who love their PJs, to stock up on the most stylish loungewear I’ve ever seen.

Los Angeles-based designer Linda Monaskanian is redefining casual. Monaskanian flips traditional casual-wear inside-out in her line, 19 4t. The line’s dual-layered garments are inspired by vintage Japanese fabrics Monaskanian loves; she even has textiles shipped from East Asia to her studio in LA. In New York? My current drawstring pant obsession: Yumi Kim. These Stacey pants feel like pajama bottoms, but look like printed trousers. At Yumi Kim’s boutiques, merchandisers dress up the pants with Dolce Vita pumps or wedges. Pretty genius (and there’s plenty of Dolce Vita in Keaton Row’s catalog). My favorite thing about these pants (besides the drawstring waistline) are the fierce embellishments: tassels, zippers, and stretch at the ankles. You look lithe, dainty, and totally hip!

Angela Denae’s blog Style.Closet.Life is part stylist diary (she writes about her work as a freelance stylist), part DIY instruction manual (how to style your thrift store finds), and part trend hound (wedge sneakers are still the “It” shoe — thank goodness, because we have two pair).

We met Angela at our last Stylist event. We love that she (just like Keaton Row) aims to make fashion accessible. Angela caters to those who want to look fashionable without chasing after the latest trend, helping her clients shop their closets, and focus on stocking investment pieces. That makes her a perfect fit for Keaton Row’s Stylist community. Outfit Remixing with Roxy of Society Social

Angela worked with the CEO/designer of Society Social, a home goods brand with customizable upholstery, and adorable furniture options perfect for entertaining. They used Roxy’s current wardrobe to create a few totally new looks. We’d call this, “Shopping your closet at its most chic.”
